Pilates at Thrive

Pilates at Thrive

In the past year I learned that the stress fracture in my foot was caused by weakness in my core muscles, so when I read this article in Runners World recently, it really resonated with me.  The article describes a clines that tests a runner’s strength in every major muscle group, emphasizing the common weaknesses (core, glutes) and helping runner’s correct and strengthen before serious injury occurs.  Why doesn’t Boise have something like this?

Just days later, my good friend Jessica approached me about starting a mat Pilates class for runners.  Talk about timing!  We quickly worked out the details and I am so excited to announce our new partnership with Thrive Pilates and the Boise Betties!  Thrive will be offering a Pilates class geared to runner weaknesses exclusively for members of the Boise Betties, with a 5-week series starting April 21.  If you would like to learn more, contact me and I can share the details.  As of now, we have a few spots still available.

I strongly believe in the benefit of Pilates and couldn’t be more thrilled to work with the amazing instructors at Thrive.  Even if you’re not on the team but looking to get stronger, check them out!  I honestly can’t think of a better way to spend an hour indoors.  http://www.thriveptpilates.com
